The beach is probably my favourite location. It is grounding, exciting and good for the soul! It is also incredibly versatile for your photos.
I use Camber Sands for my beach shoots as I absolutely adore the sand dunes, then also the glorious flat expanse of un-interupted sandscape (is that even a word), with pools of water left behind by the tide. The sun sets in just the right place too!
I tend to shoot in the water in the evenings when the light is low, the reflections and light are unbeatable! Then for day time I head to the dunes.
Top tips for your beach shoot.....come ready to go! Leave what you can in the car, I will never be far from the car park. Wear light, comfortable clothes, what ever you would normally wear to the beach really. Or something you feel really good and comfortable in. This isn't a magazine shoot, these photos are for you. Your memories not mine. Have spare clothes, towels and snacks near by. Your shoot is only 10 minutes so make sure you are ready and waiting to go.
